Poultry

So far, we have 200 hard chickens, and some guinea fowls. We plan to buy incubators so that the hens can continue to lay eggs without brooding and we can continuously have new chicks. We will carefully look after the chicks during the first 6 weeks after hatching, and then allow them to scavenge in the yard. We will sell the males for meat once they are ready, and allow the females to lay eggs. We are careful about preventing disease through vaccination and de-worming so that we sell good quality meat and we do not lose any birds.

These birds are popular in the local markets because of their taste due to free range grazing supplemented with feed.
